Seachtain na Gaeilge

Rinne na cailíní sár –iarracht gaeilge a labhairt i gcomhóir Seachtain na Gaeilge i mbliana. The girls of St. Brigid’s made a huge effort to use their cúpla focail this month in St. Brigid’s G.N.S. Some of the girls drew pictures and posters to remind us of the fantastic seanfhocail or proverbs we have in Irish, a favourite being ‘when the cat is away, the mice can play’, ‘Nuair a bhíonn an cat amuigh ,bíonn an luch ag rince’!

The teachers were listening out for girls who put in a special effort and awarded Gaeilgeoir na  Seachtaine and gave out stickers on the yard to those who were trying to play games as Gaeilge. The girls were also learning the dances from Ireland and a Céilí was held on Wednesday, 25th  for all classes. Bhain na páistí sult as craic as. Even some of the Junior Infant parents and guardians had a go! A huge thank you to all our girls and staff who made Seachtain na Gaeilge such a great success this year. Beir bua!
